Here is a breakdown of credits needed.

Look at your Graduation Summary

It is available on your myDSD under 'Academics'> 'Reports'> 'Graduation Summary.


This document will list the requirements for graduation and will show you how your classes are being counted for graduation.


You should check this document regularly to ensure that you are on track for graduation.

After looking at your Graduation Summary, decide which classes you would like to take.

Take AP Classes

Take Concurrent Enrollment Classes

  • AP Classes prepare you for the end of year AP Exam
  • Colleges will award you credits based on your scores (this will vary by school)
  • Cost for testing varies from $95 to $143
  • Does not automatically show on your college transcript


Sign Up for Early College

  • Early College classes are taken AT Weber State University
  • Colleges will award credits as transfer credits (this will vary by school)
  • Cost is full tuition, there are scholarships available
  • Grade will automatically be on your college transcript


  • CE classes are taught at FHS by our teachers
  • Colleges will award credits as transfer credits (this will vary by school)
  • Cost is the admission fee for the school and $5 per credit (most classes are 3 credits)
  • Grade will automatically be on your college transcript


Earn an Associates Degree or Certificate of Completion

  • You can use a combination of AP, CE and Early College credit for the Degree or Certificate

  • All juniors will take the ACT on March 26th
  • You can sign up for ANY national testing date by going to actstudent.org

  • NO Course Requirement

2. Cum Laude (Silver Cord)

  • 3.6-3.799 Cumulative GPA
  • 4 Yearlong AP/Honors/CE OR 8 Semester CE/AP courses (each counts for .5 so you need 8 to equal 4 yearlong courses.) OR 900 hours DATC
  • Full-Time Enrollment*

3. Magna Cum Laude (Teal Cord)

  • 3.8-3.999 Cumulative GPA
  • 6 Yearlong AP/Honors/CE OR 12 Semester CE/AP courses (each counts for .5 so you need 12 to equal 6 yearlong courses.) OR 1200 hours DATC
  • Full-Time Enrollment*

4. Summa Cum Laude (Multi Colored Cord- Teal, Silver, and black)

  • 4.0 Cumulative GPA
  • 6 Yearlong AP/Honors/CE OR 12 Semester CE/AP courses (each count for .5 so you need 12 to equal 6 yearlong courses.) OR 1200 hours DATC
  • Full-Time Enrollment*

*Full-Time Enrollment means enrolled in 5 or more courses at FHS that earn a letter grade (no pass/fail) up to and including first semester of senior year. DTC courses count towards full time status. Home release, Released Time, Student aide, etc DO NOT COUNT.

  • Merit-Based scholarships are usually awarded through the colleges you apply for and no separate application is needed.
  • Use a scholarship matching service like fastweb.com to find private lender scholarships you may qualify for

Credit recovery is offered through Edgenuity and costs $35 per quarter credit.

  • If you receive a U on midterms, or are in danger of receiving a U on your term report card, you will work with your teacher to make up the U
